Block Scheduling

Nerinx uses a rotating 4x4 Block Schedule with 8 periods spread over two days. "A-Block" Days meet classes A.B.C.D with the order rotating. "E-Block" Days meet classes E, F, G, H with the order rotating.

Contact Period

Contact periods allow students the opportunity to make contact with their teachers for individualized tutoring, clarification, and study. Many students use them to access the computer labs and the library. Teachers are to be found in the following locations during Contact periods:

Making Up Tests

Students who miss a test due to absence of any part of a school day are required to take the make-up test by the end of the next school day. When a student is absent two school days, she has until the end of the second day she is back to make up the test.
Students will find their make-up test waiting for them in the Resource Center at the back of the Library. Afterschool students should report to the Resource Center right away, as no test (no matter how short) may be started when there is less than 30 minutes until Closing.

Resource Center Hours

Monday - Thursday7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
After an early dismissal, the Resource Center
remains open for two hours.
